When cleansing oily and combination skin, it’s extremely important not to dry the skin out as excessive dryness can cause the skin to overproduce sebum, leading to increased oiliness and impurities. Hot water can dry and irritate the skin, so always use warm water. For a light cleanse and to freshen up the skin it’s best to use a hydrating toner, as this retains the skin’s natural pH and supports the absorption of skin care products.
Choose your cleansing product on a daily, as-needed basis. When in need of oil control, we recommend our Acne Wash cleansing gel, which contains activated charcoal, several natural extracts and tea tree oil, which help to deep cleanse impurities, soothe inflammation, minimise the look of pores and control excess sebum production.
Once the skin is calm, we recommend swapping to our milder everyday Jelly Wash cleansing gel, which will cleanse the skin gently and leave it feeling fresh and matte. Jelly Wash is also suitable for make-up removal but removing highly pigmented make-ups might require a double cleanse.
