Is Olivia Klein a Finnish brand?
Yes, we are an entirely Finnish company and our founder Olivia Klein is also Finnish.
Where are your products produced?
Our cardboard outer packaging is produced in Finland using domestically sourced materials. Our wash cloth is made by hand in Finland using TCF bleached (Totally Chlorine Free, or ‘oxygen bleached’) cotton. Our products are produced in the USA in a strictly monitored, USDA National Organic Program accredited, eco-factory. All of our raw ingredients are purchased from organic agriculture contract farmers.
What do you mean by ‘clean cosmetics’?
By clean cosmetics we mean ecologically produced cosmetics that are safe for people as well as the environment. Naturally derived, organically farmed ingredients and completely recyclable, non-toxic packaging materials are characteristic of clean cosmetics. Clean cosmetics do not include ‘filler’ ingredients, such as added fragrances, colours or texture-improving ingredients, which are not required for the product to function. Clean cosmetics are effective, long-lasting and multipurpose, and this way they help reduce the unnecessary and excessive everyday use of cosmetics.
How much product should I use? How often?
The exact amount and frequency of use really depends on the needs of your skin and can only be discovered through trial and error. We always recommend starting with small amounts and increasing the amount you use little by little, adjusting to your skin’s response. Remember that it’s always best to apply product in small quantities several times a day, rather than in large amounts in one go!
Our serums can be mixed into any of our moisturisers for daily use (this way the product will last much longer, too!). For best results, always moisten the skin thoroughly with toner before applying any skin care product; this improves the effects of the products, helps it to absorb better and will make your product last much longer.
Please note that our cleansing products are very long-lasting and using a small amount at a time goes a long way. We recommend a double cleanse for removing make-up, rather than using a large amount of cleanser.
Where should I store my products? How long do they keep?
We recommend storing your products in a dark, dry place at room temperature. Please use your product within 12 months of opening. Please avoid leaving products in the sun or near a warm sauna!
How do I easily use up product left over at the bottom of the container?
All our packaging contains screw-top closures, so that it’s easy for you to open your product up and lightly tap the bottle to get any leftover product out. Our pumps dose product from the bottom of the container, so sometimes product can be left over at the sides. A light tap on the side of the bottle will shift the product so that the pump can reach it again. If cold temperatures have solidified the product, try holding it under warm water for a bit to liquefy it.
You can shake a bit of toner in your moisturiser or serum to soften it up and help it move. Please don’t add water, though, as this will affect the effectiveness and lifespan of the product. Our shampoo can be diluted with water, but when diluted we recommend using it within two months. Leftover toner is best used by removing the spray top and pouring it onto a cotton pad.
Can I recycle an empty product?
Of course! All our packaging is completely recyclable. Our cardboard outer packaging can be placed in mixed cardboard recycling. Bottles, caps and pumps can be placed in plastic recycling. Please use your wash cloth for as long as possible; it can be washed at up to 90°C! If your wash cloth is at the end of its life, however, then sadly it belongs in general waste.
Can hair care products be used in the sauna?
We do not recommend using any hair care products in the sauna. Your hair is best protected against heat by leaving them dry and covering them with a moist towel. Remember to wash off any styling products before going in the sauna so that they don’t damage the hair. Never wash your hair or use hair care products, masks or oil treatments in the sauna.

Are Olivia Klein products naturally derived?
For the most part, yes: our products are 99% naturally derived. Some of our products contain a few synthetic or partially synthetic ingredients.
Which synthetic ingredients can be found in Olivia Klein products?
Some of our products contain the synthetic preservative phenoxyethanol in concentrations of 0,25—1%, depending on the product. Our shampoo contains disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, which is a synthetic cleansing agent. Despite its name, this ingredient is not a sulphate. A synthetic antistatic agent called stearalkonium chloride is used in our hair conditioners.
Which partly synthetic ingredients can be found in Olivia Klein products?
Our cleansing gels contain cocamidopropyl betaine, which is a partially synthetic foaming and cleansing agent produced from coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine. Our hair conditioner contains PEG-40 castor oil, which is a partially synthetic emulgator and surfactant produced from polyethylene glycol and castor oil. Some of our products contain polysorbates 20, 60 and 80, which are partially synthetic emulgators and surfactants produced from ethylene oxide and sorbitol.
Are Olivia Klein products organic?
All our products primarily use organically farmed raw ingredients. The exact percentage of organic ingredients can be found on each product’s page, under ingredients. We favour ecological methods and hand-crafting in all production phases.
Do Olivia Klein products contain added colours?
No, our products do not contain any added colours. The colour of a product derives wholly from its ingredients.
Do Olivia Klein products contain added fragrances?
No, our products do not contain any added fragrances. The scent of a product derives wholly from its ingredients.
Do Olivia Klein products contain sulphates?
No, our products do not contain any sulphates.
Do Olivia Klein products contain preservatives?
Yes, some of our products contain phenoxyethanol in concentrations of 0,25—1%, depending on the product. Our products also contain the following preservation boosting ingredients:
- Neem tree seed oil (Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil)
- Rosemary leaf extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract)
- Tea tree leaf oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil)
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
- Organic grain alcohol
Is the palm oil used in Olivia Klein products responsibly sourced?
Yes, the palm oil we use has the EcoSocial Certification. This organisation supports and monitors the sustainable production of palm oil and seeks to reduce the harmful impact of palm oil production through certification.
Are Olivia Klein products suitable for vegans?
Most of our products are vegan. We have made special mention of any animal-derived ingredients on each product’s page. The following products unfortunately aren’t vegan:
- Optimal Lotion, as it contains milk powder and organic honey
- Prime Cream, as it contains freeze-dried goat’s milk powder
- Sensitive Wash, as it contains organic honey
Have Olivia Klein products or their ingredients been tested on animals?
No, neither our products nor their ingredients have been tested on animals.

We have compiled more information about all the ingredients contained in our products here. You can search for any ingredient by using the INCI ingredient name found on the product label.
Allergies & Safety
I think I might be allergic to an ingredient. What should I do?
We recommend that you test the product on a small area of skin before use to make sure it suits you if you suspect you are allergic or hypersensitive to any ingredient. We also recommend that you read the product label carefully and have a look at our allergy information page before using a product.
Are products that contain hydrolysed wheat protein suitable for those with coeliac disease or wheat sensitivity?
The Finnish Coeliac Society has deemed hydrolysed wheat protein suited to a gluten-free diet. However, we recommend that you test the product on a small area of skin before use to make sure it suits you.
Can I use products while on medication for a skin condition?
We recommend you consult with your physician on the safe use of cosmetic products while you are on medication or any type of treatment for a skin condition. Extra care should be taken when using skin care products while on medication for conditions such as severe acne.
Can I use Olivia Klein products during pregnancy?
Yes, all our products are safe to use during pregnancy.
I started using a product and now my skin is breaking out. Is this normal?
Mild skin reactions are normal when you start using new products or products that are more effective than what your skin is used to. Normal reactions during this transition period include mild itching and breakouts. If your skin is very dry, it is normal for it to slightly burn and sting or turn red until its moisture content or damaged skin barrier has recovered.
The duration of this transition period varies from one person to the next, but at most it should not last for more than a few weeks. We always recommend keeping to a new skin care routine for a minimum of two weeks to allow your skin to adjust and for true results to appear. If symptoms persist for longer than two weeks, it is possible that the products you are using are not suited to your skin. In this case, please contact us so that we can work together to find the best possible care routine for your skin.
Immediately stop using a product if you experience persistent burning sensations on the skin or if the skin has broken out in a clear rash, acne or symptoms of rosacea. We recommend testing each new product on a small area of skin and carefully going through the product label and our allergy information before use.
Can i place an order without registering a customer account?
Of course! An account is not required to make orders in the Olivia Klein shop. However, an account will allow you to check and track the status of your orders and save your information so that you can easily reorder products.
What payment methods are available?
We accept payments via online banking (Finnish banks only) and by card (Visa or Mastercard).
There is no Olivia Klein stockist in my region! How can I purchase products?
Our products are sold by a few online stockists who offer European or worldwide delivery. If you are in Finland, you can also order products directly from our web shop, visit any of our stockists or ask your local pharmacy to order our products in from their pharmaceutical wholesaler. Please have a look at our stockist page for details.

Delivery & Returns
What shipping methods are available in Finland?
We’ll ship your order within two working days of receiving it. We ship all orders as parcel deliveries via the Finnish postal service. We currently offer the following shipping options:
- Standard delivery to post office: the parcel will be delivered to your nearest post office within one working day (price varies on total weight, starting at €5.90 + VAT)
- Home delivery: the parcel will be delivered to your home address at a specified date and time (price varies on total weight, starting at €11 + VAT)
Standard delivery is always free for orders over €50.
Can I track my order?
You can track your order by using the Posti tracking number included in your dispatch confirmation email. Please note that it can take a few hours for the tracking number to be activated. If you did not receive a tracking number or your order has not been delivered, please contact us and we’ll sort it out!
Do you ship internationally?
Unfortunately we don’t offer international shipping at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience! Please check here for online stockists who offer international delivery.
Can I cancel my order?
You can cancel your order as long as it has not been shipped yet. To cancel, please reply to your order confirmation email or send us an email at email@example.com. We will cancel and reimburse your order in full as soon as possible.
Can I return my order?
Of course! All purchases made in the Olivia Klein shop have a 14-day right of return, starting from the day you received the order.
To make a return, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your order number and a list of the products you wish to return. We will send you an email confirmation within two working days which includes details on how to send the product back to us. Please make sure to tell us if you are returning a faulty or incorrect product.
Once we have received your return, we will reimburse the cost of the products directly to the payment method you used when placing the order. Please note that delivery costs are reimbursed only if your order was incorrect or contained faulty or damaged products. Please see our order terms and conditions for more details.
I purchased a product elsewhere and wish to return it. Can I return it to you?
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of products purchased from our stockists. To make a return, please contact the stockist who sold you the product.
I tried a product and I am not happy with it. Can I still return it?
We are so sorry to hear that the product wasn’t right for you! Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of products that have been opened unless they were faulty or damaged. If the product did not suit your skin or you had problems with using it, please contact us directly so that we can work together to find the best possible solution to your issue. If the product you purchased was faulty or damaged, you can return it to us or the stockist you purchased it from and we will take care of it together.
